This year the walk-a-thon was moved, both its month and its location. The kids enjoyed a beautiful spring day at Veteran's Park walking. It was quite the change from last year's event as the kids (then in Kindergarden) were ready for the walk to be over as quickly as it began and they expressed it quite freely. But this year was very different. Instead of the complaining and wondering when it would be over, they actually were getting into it and we had a difficult time keeping up with them - they were running this time! Thanks to everyone who sponsored us. The school had raised $26,000 at the time of the walk, and more donations were coming in still. This is great news as this money is used for scholarships for students to attend school and many other things as well. Sarah's class drew posters while they were waiting to be called for their class moms to drive them to the park and proudly displayed them as they walked the route. After the walk it was time to hear who had the most donations and the awarding of the prizes. All the kids worked so hard and had such a great time!
