It's been a while since I have posted anything on this site, so now I am playing catch up! Here's what's been happening in SGB's world since the last entry:
November- Momma's breakfast in bed to celebrate another birthday (we won't say how many), Thanksgiving in Florida visiting Aunt Jennifer and Grammy,
our 12th Anniversary.December - K's arrival from Russia, Grandmama's Birthday, their 52nd Anniversary, Christmas with the Browns, Daddy Matt's birthday (we still owe him breakfast in bed)
January - New Years with Grammy & Gary, K's return to Russia, a little snow 2x's and keeping Foster Care kids, which brings us up to February.
Gracy named him that because he was blowing bubbles at her in the pet store. She also followed it up by saying that it was only his 'nickname', but we still have to figure out what his 'real name' will be (it keeps changing, so we are not quite sure).
February - Whew!! Over the last few weeks since K left to go back to Russia, there have been plenty of things to keep us busy, including doctor visits to take blood and bone scans of SGB's legs. She was a trooper with taking blood as it was not just a finger prick to find out if she was diabetic or not, they took 2 whole tubes of it. A little panicked at first but once the needle was in and she saw how cool it was for the blood to go through the tube, she was ok. That and a promise by her daddy that he's buy her a coldstone ice cream, gave her that extra strength she needed. She also managed to squeeze 6 stickers out of the nurses for her good behavior :) Then it was off to Children's North for the bone scans. That was painless and fast and she got to see her own bones on the screen and also managed to score 6 more stickers for her cooperation as well. She was not being greedy with the stickers though but rather thoughtful in that she was meeting her friend later that day to go to the zoo and wanted to share her plunder with her very good friend. Praise the Lord, tests came back all normal, no signs of either diabetes or anything in her bones. So, that brings us to the events that transpired last week and this week. Last week SGB had been asking to have a Nickname. We tried to explain that we had several nicknames for her already, but none that she found suitable for her at this time. This past week she informed us that her new nickname was "Gracy" and that we could call her that whenever we wanted her. This was very helpful to boost her confidence and morale after a long few weeks of feeling a little uncertain of her identity, having to make a lot of sacrifices while K was here and being one of the youngest kids in her class. Her new nickname was followed by being the star student at school this week and then to the addition of the newest member of our family. I present to you
BUBBLES - her Betta Fish!
