Today was the big day. The day that Sarah's been crossing off the dates on her calendar since March to get here. We started a new tradition this year - getting breakfast in bed on your birthday. Here's how the day unfolded. It was a little past 6:30am this morning. Matt and I had already been up and fixed our coffee and were in the kitchen when we heard a voice exclaim "I'm waiting for someone to sing Happy Birthday to me"! She was NOT getting out of bed for fear of missing breakfast! The tray was already set up, just waiting for her to awake. Luckily she chose something easy for me to
prepare: a chocolate muffin, some orange juice and some grapes. We made it extra special by putting it on a special hello kitty plate with a matching cup. She was just beaming. I think the photos speak for themselves!! We didn't have much time to sit around and make the morning last because Sarah had school and Matt had to work. Sarah had a great day at school as all the kids made her a special birthday card, she got to wear a fancy hat with candles on it (looked like Cat in the Hat) and we brought cupcakes for all the kids to eat at snack time.
